1911 Basketweave

A traditional basketweave in USMC black.  This example features a thin suede pigskin lining, also in black, an overhand safety strap (which fits either cocked or uncocked), and a custom stamping on the diagonal panel.  Belt loop is folded over and stitched, and angled to cant the barrel rearward slightly.  Hardware is nickel plated and the snap is covered on the inside.  A 10 oz. welt seemed appropriate along the seam, compensating for the lining.  Both the welt and lining add stiffness.  All stitching is by hand.
